About Mya Boren Wellness

Where Healing Begins

At Mya Boren Wellness, healing starts with something simple, just being seen. Really seen. Not as a diagnosis or a set of symptoms, but as a whole person with a story worth hearing.

If you've found your way here, chances are you're carrying something heavy. Maybe it's grief that won't lift. Anxiety that hums beneath everything. A past that still shows up uninvited. Or just the quiet exhaustion of holding it all together for so long.

You're not broken. You're human. And you don't have to figure this out alone.

This practice was built for moments exactly like this one, when you're ready to reach out but aren't sure where to turn. Mya created Mya Boren Wellness to be the kind of space she wishes everyone could find, safe, unhurried, and free of judgment.

Her path into mental health work wasn't accidental. Over 18 years, Mya has walked alongside people through some of life's hardest chapters, in counseling centers, hospitals, college campuses, and community programs throughout Sweetwater County. She's sat with individuals facing trauma, addiction, grief, anxiety, depression, and those nameless seasons when nothing feels quite right.

What she's learned along the way is this: the most meaningful healing happens when clinical skill meets genuine human connection. When someone listens not just to respond, but to understand.

As a locally owned practice in Rock Springs, Wyoming, Mya Boren Wellness was built with this community at its center. We proudly serve clients throughout Rock Springs, Green River, Superior, Reliance, and all of Sweetwater County, offering mental health and holistic wellness support that feels personal, grounded, and real.

Meet Mya

Mya is the heart behind Mya Boren Wellness, and she brings something rare to this work, a blend of professional training, lived experience, and a deep commitment to her community.

She's an Internationally Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (IC&RC, since 2017) with Whole Health and Forensic Endorsements, a Certified QPR Suicide Prevention Trainer (since 2018), and is currently completing her Prosper Suicide Prevention Instructor certification. These aren't just credentials on a wall. They represent years of learning, growing, and showing up for people in crisis.

Mya is also a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher, a practice she weaves into her holistic approach to wellness. At Western Wyoming Community College, she serves as both a Case Manager/Peer Specialist and Adjunct Instructor, teaching courses like Yoga for Health, Action Planning for Wellness & Recovery, Choosing Happiness: The Science of Happiness, and 8 Dimensions of Wellness. Through these programs, she supports students navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions with practical tools and compassionate guidance.

Before launching her own practice, Mya spent years with Southwest Counseling Services and Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. She's worked as a Behavioral Health Technician, Case Manager, Prevention Specialist, and Certified Peer Specialist, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her experience spans suicide prevention programming, substance use recovery, crisis intervention, and advocacy work across the county.

But what truly sets Mya apart is how deeply she's woven into the fabric of this community. She's facilitated parenting classes with Climb Wyoming, spoken at women's retreats, led employee wellness workshops for the Chamber of Commerce and local library system, and continues to co facilitate peer recovery groups with Recover Wyoming. She also partners with local law enforcement through Crisis Intervention Team training, sharing her own story to help officers better support individuals in crisis.

When you work with Mya, you're not getting a distant professional reading from a script. You're getting someone who has done the hard work herself, and who genuinely believes in your ability to heal.

What Mya Believes

At the heart of this practice is one simple truth, no one should feel alone in their healing.

We meet people exactly where they are, not where they think they should be. There's no judgment here. No pressure to perform or prove anything. Just space to breathe, to process, and to grow at your own pace.

Healing isn't linear. Some days feel like breakthroughs while others feel like setbacks. Both are part of the journey, and both deserve compassion.

Our work is guided by three things, deep listening, honesty, and trust. Mya takes time to understand the whole person, not just the problem that brought you through the door. Together, you'll build a plan that supports your emotional, mental, and overall well being. Sessions are collaborative, focused on building self awareness, resilience, and practical tools you can actually use in everyday life.

We also believe good care should be accessible. That's why we offer both in person and online sessions, so clients across Rock Springs and Sweetwater County can choose what works best for their schedule and comfort level. Whether you meet in the office or connect through telehealth, you'll always be greeted with warmth, respect, and genuine care.

Why People Choose Mya Boren Wellness

Her approach blends professional skill with the kind of empathy that only comes from lived experience.
